Paint! Club (Ages 9 & up)

Adventure into the fun world of canvas painting! Taught by Oak Lawn resident artist and musician Alan Bishop, this engaging acrylic painting class will explore artistic composition, color theory, and brush techniques in a supportive, creative environment.
Students will have the opportunity to create at least one polished painting of their own design, learning how to make their trees happy and their horizons pop along the way. Whether you're a beginner or building on existing skills, this class is the perfect place to express yourself through art.
This six-week class meets on the following Thursdays: September 4th, September 11th, September 18th, September 25th, October 2nd, and October 9th.
Make & Take Art Studio

In this weekly hands-on class artists of all ages will create a brand new project each session. From painting with acrylics or watercolor, to sculpture and mixedmedia, each week brings a fresh creative challenge and a chance to explore different materials and techniques. All supplies are provided and projects are designed to be completed in one session. No experience is needed, just curiosity and a love for creative fun!

Registration closes twenty four hours before each session and no walk-ins will be permitted.

Drawing Explorers

Ages: 7 - 19
Unleash your child’s creativity in Drawing Explorers—a fun, skill-building art class designed for children ages 7 and up. Over the course of four weekly sessions, students will learn fundamental drawing techniques in a supportive, engaging environment that encourages exploration and confidence.
Each class includes warm-up activities, guided instruction, and plenty of time for personal creativity. Students will build skills in line, shape, texture, value, shading, and composition using materials such as graphite, colored pencils, markers, and more. They'll practice drawing from real life and their imagination while developing their own artistic voice.
The session concludes with a Mini Art Show during the final class, where students will showcase their finished pieces for family and friends. It’s a celebration of creativity, growth, and artistic expression!
No prior drawing experience is needed—just curiosity and a willingness to create!
The sessions meet from 5 pm to 6:30 pm on September 15th, September 22nd, September 29th and October 6th.
This is a four week session for ages seven and up. Registration closes on September 14th. Class may be cancelled if the required minimum entrollment is not met.
Paper Bag Pumpkin Craft

Ages: 9 - 19
Make an adorable little pumpkin from a recylcled grocery bag. Have a blast crunching up the paper and shaping it with wire. We'll look at photos of real pumpkins as we create the vine, leaves, stalk and color.
Upcycle a paper grocery bag into a sweet little pumpkin on the vine. Skills include distressing paper, cutting to a pattern, shaping a sculpture, watercolor painting, wire work, nature observation and even a little geometry.
Your instructor is Oak Lawn botonical artist Kate Donley. The class meets on October 4th and is for tweens to teens from 2-4 pm. Registration closes on October 3rd.
3rd Annual Lantern Parade

Enjoy the magic of an autumn evening in a whole new way by joining in our annual lantern parade! We will meet on Wednesday, October 8th from 4-6pm to make our own unique lanterns which will be left in the studio for drying and attaching the light and handles.
We will gather at at an area park after dark on the evening of Saturday, October 11th at 7:00 pm. The finished lanterns will be distributed and we'll walk together, sharing a magical experience.
The lantern parade is a fun and unique experience that is not scary or overstimulating for kids, and it is something the whole family, including grandparents can enjoy together. Registration includes making the lantern and participating in the parade. Build family memories and register today!
